Mont Mégantic National Park is located in the Southern-Eastern region of Quebec. More specifically, it is situated near the Canadian border of Maine and New Hampshire, close to Notre-Dame-des-Bois Municipality.
The park is divided into multiple sectors, each one having year-round hiking trails and campgrounds.
The Sentier des Cimes, translating to the Trail of Peaks, is a challenging hiking trail that starts by the river and crosses multiple breathtaking viewpoints, all the way to a panoramic scenery at the top.
This park is also known for its fourth largest Observatory in Canada, with a research lab dedicated to Astrophysics and discoveries behind it.

I hiked this trail during December and the temperature reached -18°C at the top. Though I had to use spikes instead of snowshoes due to the lack of snow.
It is also worth noting, the importance of wearing base layers for both lower and upper body, as well as, a warm fleece along with the snow jacket.
The full trail includes a 14 Km loop hike, from the riverside to the highest point at 875 m.
